Hi All - Bruce and I and all the cats survived the fires, and so did our house.  We lost a LOT of personal property, our well and well house, and our detached garage/office complex loaded with equipment, furniture, and antiques.  I took a lot of pixs mostly for insurance damage puposes, but they don't begin to portray the horrific condition of our once beautiful Deerhorn Valley.  All three of our closest neighbors lost their homes, and many many more uphill and especially downhill from us.  The earth is now black, the foliage completely gone, and most trees are black and burned.  The whole reason we all live in Deerhorn was the beauty of this little secluded valley. 

We've been without power for over a week, since Sunday October 21 and SDG&E estimates it will be at least 11/6 before power is restored.  A lot of power poles and lines were destroyed.  That means no water either since we all need power to pump from our wells.  Our cute little well house burned down and our whole well system (tanks, pump, pipelines) were severely damaged.  Lots and lots of work to do, but not until the insurance adjuster comes by, so we just have to wait for now.
